About Mackenzie

Mackenzie is a BFA 2025 Candidate at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts for Costume Technology. A lifetime love of theatre and art drives her desire for excellence in her craftsmanship. Mackenzie found her love of costuming when she began working at her local Renaissance Festival in her freshman year of high school. Mackenzie has a particular interest in corsetry, tailoring, and costume crafts. In her time outside the shop, Mackenzie enjoys decorating cakes, playing board games, and the color pink.

Texas Shakespeare Festival

  • Stitcher for the four mainstage productions; Much Ado About Nothing, Julius Caesar, Peter and the Starcatcher, and Sweeney Todd

  • Stitcher and Dresser for a variety of house shows like Music Goes Round, Street Party, Retro Spec, The 325’s as well as The Grand Carnival parade

  • Worked as a lane performer, was responsible for personal costume creation and maintenance

  • Worked as a Cashier and Bakery Clerk

    • Interacted face to face with customers, sliced bread, packaged pastries, kept shelves full, answered phone calls

  • Promoted to Cake Decorator Apprentice and then to Cake Decorator

    • Filled orders, packaged and delivered wedding cakes, managed production, maintained and ordered inventory, maintained sanitized and organized environment
